Those were the days, my friend*

Morning. I open my eyes. Look at the radio clock in the bookshelf in front of my bed. Reach for my laptop. Adjust my pillows. Stay beneath the sheets, checking my emails, blogs, and feed reader. And the news hit me. Pavarotti is dead. Sad, sad way to start a day.

* I looked to find his performance of "Those were the days". I had it on tape in my car in Iran, and used to shout along with his heavenly voice while driving...:)

Salam Jeer Jan. I knew he had slipped into a coma last night, and I found this sad news this morning. I did come by earlier and saw your post. You are a good fan of Pavarotti's. Seventy one years old is still young for someone to die. It is so sad.

Say, I liked the way you described how you checked your emails, etc. I should try it! As it is the case with me, when I get up in the morning, before I do anything else I head up the stairs into my corner to check the news and my emails! How sick is that? Taking things to my bed where I don't have to come up the stairs will be the healthy thing to do, I'm sure! If I put everything next to myself in bed, I won't ever have to leave my bed! I can even take many intermittent naps in between tending my "not-so-subtle habit!" Do you think if I have my computer next to me, and I won't have to come upstairs at all, that I can also find a way not to have to go to work, either?! That would be the "ideal setup!" Do you have any answers oh, wise one?

Be good azize delam. Thanks for making me smile in the middle of my tears.
