Aside from its lyrics, I like the melody of this song alot. A couple of months ago i went to a jazz concert and they played a plain jazz version of Hey Jude. I wish I could post that here instead. It was a great performance.

Salam ... melody is everything. Lyrics have no meaning. One falls in love with the melody and sings it along over and over to himself. For example we hum along Latin songs without knowing what they say. We get hypnotized by the melody then repeat the words to ourselves until we become what the writer wants us to be. It's a joy to be taken away from yourself by a pleasant hum, detach into a dream world.
Well anonymous, i do like lyrics too! Just reading "Take a sad song and make it better" makes my heart beat faster:) I beleive it's the combination of melody and lyrics that makes the magic.
